New construction. New opportunities.
This building will be LEED certified and will clean up an existing brownfield site.
The Heart of the City Health Center will be located at the corner of Sheldon and Cherry Street, in the Heartside district. The 79,300 sq. ft. building will be LEED® certified, and will clean up an existing brownfield site.
Cherry Street Health Services and Touchstone innovarè will jointly own the building through a limited liability corporation, and also house their service operations there. Proaction Behavioral Health Alliance plans to have selected clinical staff and outpatient counseling co-located in the building.
Heart of the City Health Center will be the new home for patients who currently receive services at Grand Rapids Pediatrics and Ferguson Adult Health Center. All services will be moved to the new facility. All existing patients will continue to receive services at the new location.
This building is intended to simplify and consolidate care for both the mind and the body. With that in mind, we have incorporated the following features into the construction:
- Medical exam rooms
- Dental care suites
- Mental health consultation and treatment rooms
- Vision care services
- X-ray facilities
- Laboratory services
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation services
- Pharmacy
- A single electronic medical records (EMR) system that will be shared by all providers.
